At Explore, we're committed to creating diverse and inclusive experiences for customers and colleagues alike. We believe that diversity is to be celebrated; life would be dreary and change would be slow if we all thought the same way. Diversity and travel go hand in hand, and we thrive on creating connection and sharing authentic local experiences across the globe with likeminded customers from all walks of life, ranging from age 7 to 90+. These experiences are not just the cornerstone of our business, they’re how we ensure we generate jobs for local people, create value and employment for local businesses, and maintain a positive impact front and centre in all we do. Not only is it valuable for the communities we visit, but it’s also key to why our customers choose us over and over again, because they can see it when they’re with us – spreading our impact further beyond our workplace and into the way our customers see the world.
We know that justice, equity, diversity and inclusion all begin at home, which is why we’re continually striving to ensure our HQ teams are diverse and inclusive. We’re proud that in a 2026 survey, 97% of our team felt that Explore values diversity, but we’ll always keep pushing our limits and working to do better. We’ve compiled a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) action plan which is owned by our General Management Team, and is accessible to the whole team at any time. We’ve also recently launched a JEDI action team, empowering colleagues to play their part and bring their lived experiences to the table.
We’re committed to measuring our progress through annual staff surveys and post tour feedback from customers and tour leaders alike, disaggregating this data where possible to really understand differing experiences, and we share our learnings and progress transparently through our monthly team update meetings.
